Frequently Asked Questions
Transparency & Patronage Principles
Is donation mandatory to use Blanko?
No. Blanko is 100% free proprietary software. All canvas tools, infinite zoom, high-resolution frame exports, and offline asset catalogs are fully unlocked with zero restrictions.
Can I use Blanko for commercial and client work?
Yes. You may freely use Blanko for personal, academic, and commercial projects without paying royalties or licensing fees. Your created boards and exported assets are entirely your property.
Why did Blanko transition to a freeware model?
To focus on crafting an uncompromising, distraction-free desktop canvas without the bloat, telemetry, or churn associated with cloud platforms, while offering patrons a direct way to support continued development.
Will Blanko ever introduce ads or subscriptions?
Never. Blanko will never display advertisements, collect telemetry, sell user habits, or lock previously free features behind paywalls.
How are donations used?
Voluntary patronage funds independent cross-platform engineering, test hardware units, code signing certificates, and maintaining verified binary releases.
